Navagraha Temples Tour (2 Nights / 3 Days)
This tour will cover all the Nine Navagraha temples in Tamil Nadu / South India devoted to the nine planets. There are nine major celestial bodies of Hindu astronomy – they are named; (1). Surya (Sun), (2). Chandra (Moon), (3). Mangala (Mars), (4). Budha (Mercury), (5). Brihaspati (Jupiter) (6).Shukra, (Venus) (7). Shani (Saturn), (8). Rahu (North Lunar Node) and (9). Ketu (South Lunar Node).
(1). Sun is the king of all the Planets and is the prominent planet in Astrology. Sun gives innumerable influences in one’s horoscope or in Vedic astrology.
(2). Moon is a lunar deity. In Sanskrit Chandra stands for ‘bright and shining’.
(3). Mars is red coloured and is one of the outer planets. It is a fierce planet, and its positioning affects one’s anger, moods, aggression, sexual expression and more.
(4). Mercury is the lord of the intellect, fine arts, humour and wit and to gain prowess in mathematics and astrology.
(5). Jupiter is a planet of expansion and represents Knowledge, Common Sense, Progeny, Name & Fame, Wealth, Religion, Religious places, Social Services and Justice. A person with a weak or malefic Jupiter suffers from Diseases of Chest, Liver & Fat related problems.
(6). Venus rules over the reproductive system, eyes, throat, chin, cheeks, and kidneys. Mercury and Saturn are its friends and the Sun and Moon are its enemies. Mars and Jupiter are neutral in friendship to Venus even though Venus considers Jupiter its enemy.
(7). Saturn and is one of the beautiful planets of our solar world. Saturn is considered to be a malefic planet as it embraces Sorrow, Pain, Ailments, Death, Journey and Age.
(8). Raghu has been traditionally considered a dark planet and is very much feared by its shadow. It is known as the supreme master of deception, mystery and illusion.
(9). Kethu is a half planet it bestows wisdom and power. It is also considered a moksha-Karak (cause of liberation from the cycle of life and death).
Day 01: On arrival at Trichy.
Drive to Kumbakonam. En route we’ll visit the famous Tanjore Big Temple (Brihadeeswara Temple). This temple was built in the 10th century by the Great Chola Dynasty, one of the World Heritage UNESCO Monument. We’ll then visit Thingaloor Chandran Temple, which is one of the Navagraha temples. Then drive to Kumbakonam. Overnight Stay at Kumbakonam.
Day 02: Kumbakonam
In the morning, we’ll visit a few other Navagraha Temples around Kumbakonam; viz, (1). Vaitheeswaran koil to receive the blessings of Lord Ankaragan (Sevvai) (2). Thiruvengadu for Budhan, (3). Keelaperumpallam for Kethu, (4). Thirunallaru for Sani (Saturn) and then head back to Kumbakonam. Overnight Stay at Kumbakonam.
Day 03: Kumbakonam – Trichy. Departure from Trichy
After your breakfast drive to Thirunageswaram to worship Lord Raghu. The serpent and then Alangudi for Guru, Suriyanar Koil for powerful Surya, the Sun God and finally to Kanchanoor for Lord Sukhran. In the evening have a visit to Swamimalai dedicated to Lord Muruga (the holy abode among six). Drive from Kumbakonam to Trichy for your departure.
